Through test and numerical simulation analysis, from the perspectives of air supply uniformity and the operating conditions of the precision air conditioner, discusses the impact of floor height on the characteristics of underfloor air distribution and cooling efficiency of air conditioning in data centers in the cases of open and closed cold aisles with different powers. The results show that when the floor height is 400-1 000 mm, the higher the floor height, the more uniform the air supply no matter the aisle is open or not. The return air temperature rises along with the increase of the floor height which is more obviously when the aisle is open. Under the condition of closed cold aisle,  the returned air temperature is 2 ℃ higher than that with open aisle. The total air rate is not changeable with the floor height when the IT load is constant. Meanwhile, the air velocity of the perforated floor tends to be uniform, and the air rate is only related to the IT load power.
